Latest news on the wire is that the Ford CEO Nasser is out the door. Anyone here work for Ford or know why he's gone?

My guess: Because of the "Exploders" and problems with Firestone, it was only a matter of time ... There was no way he was going to survive. Period.

Did Nasser still get paid $12.8 million?

I'd like to see what his "Golden Parachute" package contained.

I worked for Ford many years until recently (I sensed layoffs in the salaried management coming, so I got out while I could ), and it's been rumored that Nasser was on the way out after the second Firestone recall. Remember there was the first recall, but the Jac amended that to include nearly all Firestone tires on Explorers. This was not a popular decision in Bill Ford's eyes (Ford's chairman), and Bill and Jac never did get along, so that more or less sealed Jac's fate. But of course, in the automotive industry, CEOs don't last longer than about 5 years at a company. When I left they were looking into getting some guy from England (but I don't remember his name).
