Hi guys,
I'm looking for some input about my dying e-barake. A while back I noticed that it was not holding as well as it used to, so I tighted it and that worked fine for some time. I recently retightened it becasue it was failing to keep the car from rolling backwards---no amount of tightning helped.
So my question is: What's Wrong!
I have my car going to the dealership this week anyway so I was going to have them take a look at it, but I would like to know if anyone can give me some input so I have a leg to stand on when I take it in---and so they don't take me to the cleaners
As always thanks for any input!

Pull the rear drive shaft and the E brake drum so you can take a look in there. Its od that it isnt holding...

Thanks Kyle. It is odd that it would hold going forward but not backwards. What would I look for in the drum?....BTW, I am terribly mechanically declined

See if the shoes in there are worn down and make sure that all the parts are in there proper place (Nothing broken)

Oil in the drum.
That would be my guess. replace seal and pads would be recommended as well, but depending on how far gone you can ususally drive with the e brake on a burn off the oil enough to make it work better.
