I am looking for an old post in which someone included a link to instructions for a do-it-yourself install of cargo-area windows with new gaskets. I am ordering the gaskets, and would prefer to do my own work. Anybody remember the post/link?

Don't have a link for you, but I did the front screen - guess it would be the same. Check for description in LR Manual; if not for cargo-area there are procedure for a frontscreen.
I used plenty of petroleum jelly on the rubbers to make it soft for the job, and took front on my one.
Used a thin piece of wood, oak is very good because it's strong, smth sized like a pencil.
Rubbers round the glass, slide in place bottom and one side. Then use piece of wood to lever the glass/rubber in place. The further you get at it, the more difficult...
Guess manuals has better instructions than this - I'm not that familiar with the language and concepts, sorry.
Maybe check price on a autoglass shop for putting it in for you if problems? Though: If I could do the big frontscreen, you should be able to do it. Try it!

I think I remember the post you are referring to.
It was a post with instructions on how to use a length of rope to get the seals in.
Right?

If so, it was something like the above, where you apply the petroleum jelly, but the difference was that you were to insert a length of twine in the length of the groove of the gasket where it actually contacts the window frame and pull the rope into the vehicle, thereby sliding the gasket into place.
I read his a while back and the instructions were for an MG roadster, I think. I made a mental note, because my rear window gaskets will need to be replaced sooner or later, too.
I figured it would make more sense when I have the actual gasket in front of me.
Let me know if this helps/works. I'll be doing it myself someday.

Yes Daniel - that is the post i meant - and that is the gist of the directions given, I was just hoping to find a little more to go on.

If I can't get the link, I will try to figure it out myself - I will let you know how it goes.
