Will a Bilstein steering dampener work on my 95 D1? They list they are for 9? - 94. Or, what else should I use? I think mine is stock with 107000 miles. Thanks. Mike J.

Don't get one unless you are sure it is the "new" style bilstien.

Old bilstiens were notorious for causing pulls to the side. Supposedly they came out with a new one which cured this but I have not confirmed.

OME or OEM would be my choice.

the first ones had a tendency to pull to one side. or you can just be sure and get a OME from Nathan.

woodhead is stock OEM. seems that everyone thinks that OME is better. seems to to be more stout at the least. OME is more, but worth it i am sure. think i paid around 50-60 bucks or something for mine from nathan. after 100K on yours i would think you will feel some improvement. steering wheel just feels tighter and it can certainly help on rough roads, etc. takes 15 min. to install too.

Bilsteins (old or new? didn't know there was a new) didn't return steering wheel to center. I've met a couple guys who installed bilstein and took it off because you had to manually turn the wheels back straight after a turn.

the guy at Bilstein had some difficulty answering questions about their steering stabilizers.

I've put OME stabilizers on both Disco and rangie, and am very happy with them.

They are much tigter than OEM (Woodhead) dampers, good for covering up for unbalanced tires/worn steering joints/slop in the steering box/etc.
