Is anyone aware of special editions that Land Rover built for 1994? I have a "ARIZONA EDITION" that has everything in it. (that would have been an option, plus its black)

My question is....did someone just PURCHASE all of the options available, or did LR actually make special editions, and I have one?

Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like the dealer in AZ just loaded it up with acc. and gave her a special name. There was no AZ edition from LRNA.

Steve.

yes..its the black one (trim/tint) She is in VERY good shape..had to change the transmission oil in it...was "HOWLING/WHINING" very loudly until i did that..my gut feeling is it was never changed in its life... Other than that...it was a good buy for 10k.... (we wanted rear a/c + it was close to us..in PHX)

Any thoughts on it?

10k- that's a good deal - i only remember it from the photos on ebay as the paint looked good but the trim had dried out and turned grey- nothing that some trim black goo shouldn't be able to fix. aside from being the wrong color for arizona you should have a fine car. best of luck and welcome to the brood.

Steve,
Yeah..I was happy it was 10k. :) As luck would have it..my neighbor backed his truck into the side of it on Friday!! I have to replace the Left Rear Door...qoutes from insurance is $1200 to fix, reinstall, repaint, etc.

I feel bad for my neighbor..he is a nice guy..and his insurance will pay for it...so, i wont have to worry about the pinstripes anymore!! hahaha...now, if i can just talk the wife into getting some cool stuff installed on it!

sorry to hear your car already has an 'owie'

make a deal with the body shop and have them paint the car hummer color code t4 - it's a one stage semi gloss tan - shouldn't be more than a few hundred to do the whole car. now it will be arizona ready - trust me when summer comes you will thank me!

Steve,
Are you in AZ? I went to the hummer website, and cant find the color you mentioned..I am hoping that it isnt much more than $1000 to paint the whole thing a different color.

I personally like silver, white or red. We shall see, when they qoute me the extra to paint the rest.

I am in Tucson, where are you at?

i've thought about this and to do it right - there would have to be alot or prep work on your part- you'd have top remove

1: front windshield
2: alpine windows
3: rear hatch side windows
4: rear hatch glass
5: door handles - might have to remove door panels
6: side mouldings if any
7: sunroofs trim ring - most likely complete
8: headlights and side markers - easy
9: rear tail lights
10: front bumper
11: rear bumper

you'd also have to deciede what part of the engine bay stays stock color and what changes - so you'd have to make a descision there. most of the work is in the r&i of the above and the masking off of the rest of the car (underneath, suspension, wheels etc) then you'd have to de-wax the exterior and scuff it up to paint primer.

then the color of your choice and then the clear coat. this why i like the hummer semi gloss paint. "one shot wonder" - and supposedly quite inexpensive to do.

OR you could very carefully mask off your car. create a positive air flow chamber out of your gargage. scuff up the paint and get a no lint roller and some flat military primer and paint and go at it! you'd have a 'discovee' in no time!!

i'd talk to a manager of a maaco - maybe they would let you prep your car and bring it in ready to go so you'd know it's done right.

i've got plenty of names here in l.a. that do custom work like this - just none in tucson....
