So, if Pioneer makes the factory head unit (Pioneer model# CDX-M910ZRV?) and Pioneer makes the factory cd changer (Pioneer model# CDX_M65ZRV) for my 95 Disco, it seems like I could use any of Pioneer's 6-CD changer units. Has anyone tried this or know for sure yes or no?

Never tried it, but it makes sense that it can be done. Conversely, you can replace the stock head unit with a Pioneer that has changer controls and continue to use the stock changer.

That's a good idea, wait, that's a really great idea. I'll be curious to know if it works. If you try it, definately tell us which changers work with the stock head unit.

I checked the connector on a Pioneer 6-CD changer that I've got laying around. It is a smallish (1/2 inch) square connector while the connector on the Rover is rectangular (1 inch x 3/8 inch).
This doesn't mean the CD changer can't be used with the factory head unit, but it would definitely require an adapter. I will look into it further, but if anyone has already done this, please chime in!

Apparently because of the licensing agreement with LR, Pioneer used a different cable and does not make an adapter. I checked several sources including a Pioneer rep and got no love. I got to the point of checking into the cable wires to see if colors matched up so I could splice in a new plug - before I found the answer I bought a LR/Pioneer unit off ebay. It installed in four minutes and works great. I wished I'd done it two months ago instead of trying to save the 75 bucks.
