Probably transfer case, or maybe a diff

yeah what they said. either you get the interference through the stereo or it is the typical transfer case whine. both can sound similar and change pitch with rpm's. but is pretty normal with most DI's. but in any case have your t-case and diff oils checked. is a neglected item for the most part.

danno~
true that many disco's come with that as standard equipment, however mine did not!! :) but that can always change quickly.

fly1747 does it sound like this:

audio/wavscream
scream.wav (11 k)

or more like this:

audio/wavpush
push.wav (63 k)

Has anyone tried to run heavier weight oil in the xfer/diffs to try to quiet the whine down? Something like 85/140?

Scott
