This is a beaut. The passenger's door on my '94 Disco is stuck closed. Yes, I've ensured it's unlocked and no amount of jiggling the door handles or applying pressure to the door will open the beast up. I've cold soaked overnite at 30 degree temps and heat soaked it with 90+ degree temps to see if that would have any effect. So far, no joy. Any ideas, or am I destined to have the passenger slide through the open window like the Dukes of Hazzard? The wife ain't gonna like that.

My guess is that something came apart inside the door from the latch and lock assembly. If you take off the interior door panel, you can open the door from there and see what will be required to repair it.

Nope, it's stuck closed. Even if I removed the seat I couldn't get the interior panel off because of the interference from the dash. I'm thinking I need to remove the door via the hinges and then remove the interior panel for access to the latch. Thoughts?

the moulding on top snaps out, giving you room to drop a coat hanger or the like down in to possibly be able to open the door. it will give you a view down in door internal @ what may be going on. I think. its a thought.

have you tried turning the key in the lock to the unlock position and pulling on the handle at the same time? don't know why, but this is the only way my tailgate door opens now and it hasn't been $135 annoying yet

I finally got my hands on the truck this past weekend and as a result I'm more frustrated than ever. I was able to finally open the door by tapping on the bottom release actuator with a thirty inch quarter inch rod through the inside window acess. Great, it's finally open now and works, i.e., close and open normally. That is, until I lock and unlock the door. It locks up tighter than a drum, again. I can go through the same procedure and make it open again but, this is not quite how it should work. It seems as if somehing is out of time and the locking actuation sets it off. Any other ideas?
