I am thinking about removing the front sway-bar. Good or bad idea? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

TC, the general advice is to remove one and see how it feels. If it feels ok, remove the other. Most people with upgraded suspension remove the swaybars, although the Disco does not handle very well with stock springs/shocks and no swaybars.
I orginally went with Allen Foster's design for the dicsonnects, but I found them to be a little weak and after damaging them I removed the swaybars completely. I am going to refashion a new set of disconnects for the rear only--designed with a larger clevis pin that matches the size of the bolt you end up replacing. Allen has a good idea, but I feel you should be going with stronger pins and clips.

I took Allen's design and drilled out two of the holes to use oversized clips. I doubt it will break and whats the worst that happens, no swaybar.

bad idea, i took off both and i could barely control the truck over 60 mph. leave the front one on, take off the rear, the truck will drive very similar to stock if you just remove the rear swaybar. if you dont drive on the highway take them both off, but be ready for a battle if you venture into high speed territory.

Was this with stock springs?
For highway travel, I don't feel that you can *safely* remove the sway bars, without increasing the spring rates (installing stiffer springs).
I drove around for a year with the rear sway bar removed and stock springs. I wouldn't do it again.

I have HD military springs alround, and no sway bars what so ever...go at around 70 mph with no problem...blistein shocks help though!

I recently removed the rear bar, no difference in road handling, but a lot more travel (actually too much, had my left rear spring come out of the cup and not make it all the way back in, need cones)
The front will come off this weekend if the weather is nice.
Keep in mind, I have Bearmach Blue Monsters and bilstein shocks. Much stiffer then stock.

OME HDs & no swaybars on a DSII. Perfect. A little rolly on SEVERE moves, but less than a stock new RR. And I travel 90mph pretty regularly. Save your comments. Thanks.

Do you have two sets of wheels or do you do 90 with the Swampers?

I have both of my sway-bars removed. I have a damn heavy roofrack, and honestly I drive it just the same. I do slow down around turns, but on highway I really can't tell any difference.

disco2guy, What's wrong with 90 mph? I've hit 100+ in my D1, and it's as solid and steady as 5 mph. In fact, it's smoother than 70-85 range (rattles and vibrations disappeared). As long as you're confident, very confident, of mechanical integrity, there's no problemo (police might have a slightly different opinion, but that's another story). I have f/r swaybars still connected, but I'll try removing while off-road now that I have OME HD/MD springs & shocks f/r. I don't think that I'd push it that fast on-road with sways disconnected, though - even with upgraded suspension.

Thanks a lot for the info. I have OME springs and shocks. HD with winch and ARB up-front and MD in the back. I will try it this weekend.
