My passenger-side catalytic converter is rattling on my 97 DIsco. I found out that there are no aftermarket replacements, and you have to use a 'genuine' because of the O2 sensor right behind it. This costs twice as much as a pre '96 c.c. replacement. What are my choices?

Follow the following link. Got a converter for my Range Rover here when everyone said that an aftermarket was not available.

They look like CATCO

I will need to measure to find out for sure.

Bad Experience News!! I had the car at the dealer for the warranty replacement of the y-pipe and converters assy, and there was a little dent in one of the converters, so the warranty was VOID!! From zero dollars to $1150 in one minute! I drove the car out cause the rattle was minor. I found a muffler shop to install a rebuilt genuine assembly (same one) for $625. That's better, but YIKES.....

I can't belive you accepted that!

I would have been like it must have been a stone.

You need to come here before spending any money man. You could have had them weld in a couple of 6005s for about 1/3 of that. Or you could have bought an NRP stainless one.

Ron

PS Do you have your old one?

Can I have it?

Ron
