Has anyone come up with a way to improve the stock roof rack bows and how they attach to the truck (96' Disco)? It seems these things are badly designed, coming out to easily and rattling around up there.
I drilled some small holes at each end just beyond the spring mechanism, thinking that if I threaded a zap-strap thru there I could cinch the whole thing together, but that didn't help at all.
There must be some way to make that rack effective! Anyone come up with a quick-fix solution?

take them off and put on some thules or yakimas. i would never risk putting anything up there......well maybe an ex-girlfriend.
