I'm trying to track down a minor xfer case leak. It appears that it's coming from around the area where the VSS lives. Is there a gasket where this thing enters the case? Has anyone ever seen the sensor itself leak? I was surprised to see only one hex bolt holding it in - or am I missing something?

OK -

I went ahead and pulled the sensor last night. Everything looked OK except there was no seal at all between the sensor and the case. Does anyone know if there is supposed to be an O-ring or gasket? Even if oil can't get out there, it'd help crap from getting in...

Here's a tip for anyone replacing this thing - make sure that when you mount the sensor back on the xfer case that the square nub is seated in the square hole in the case. I thought it was in, but ended up pulling it and replacing it again when my speedo didn't work
