Can they be fitted to a Disco I...like my 1995 model?
Is it really just defroster lines where the wipers are or is the whole thing heated like the Disco II version?
If you can get one for a Disco I, where are the connection wires?

I'm asking all this because I must have my Windshield replaced, and if this is available for a Disco I, why not put that one in...I'll do the wiring with a remote switch or something.

After all, I can't think of any more electric stuff to add??!!

Yes, you can fit one. If ordering from autoglass company, make be sure your order is for the correct one, as your vehicle is in the midst of a modelchange as to windscreens.
Takes 2x30 AMP fuses to run...through a timer relay (think about 6 minutes). You can of course run it through an ordinary relay, but don't forget about that switch or you'll drain your battery...
There are tiny-tiny wires between the layers of glass, same way as rear door, only very very thin. They cover entire screen.
Check prize at a plain autoglass company, do not bother checking in at Land Rover. In Norway they charge something like $1400 Going to an ordinary autoglass here, they charge you $880. Though, the UNheated cost smth like $300
Check your local prizes, they might be cheaper.
What to do depends on the depth of your pocket, the climate in your region, and how annoyed your are of your Discos bad heater...
Conclusion: Living in cold, wet, misty conditions, with no air-con: go for the heated one. If not, it will be a lot cheaper running without the heat...

Also - check the previous thread on this topic for more info about connections. I'm told that the RR classic windshield (heated) is the same as the D1 (rumour only - yet to be proven)
