has anybody gotten a dent on the rear door, just to the right of the spare. Looks like the door was over extended, but the latch catches it right before it hits the body, or am i wrong. I cant see how a branch or anything else could have done it, theres no scratches. I just noticed it today, has a good 5 inch tall crack in the paint. Whats the skin of the rear door made of anyways

i have one. not all that big. never really thought about it, but i am pretty sure it is from the tailgate. i have seen many with the latches broke preventing the door from stopping and swinging all the way around. this could have happening with previous owner?? pretty sure the tailgate door is steel. as is the roof.

John,
The rear door on a DII is aluminum, I'm sure the DI is the same. Could you post a photo?

Hers a pic of the dent, just strange that it looks like the door was swung open too far, but i pushed pretty hard and couldn't get it close. Also that the far right is cracked. As long as its aluminum i dont care. Oh well, nothign a little rhino liner cant fix.

Is it possible another vehicle or something pressed up against your spare?
