I am looking for drawings and spec for the rear Axle of the Discovery. I have a Nissan Xterra and I am trying to build an Axle for coil spring suspension. I have chosen the Discovery Axle for that therefore I need spec and drawings. Can any one help ? I would greatly appreciate that.

Thnx

Not to be a spoil sport, but there are MANY better choices to use for your application than a Land Rover axle. They are notoriously weak unless you buy the rather expensive aftermarket ones. Why not just call up Moser axles or Strange axles and get some custom hy-tuff axles made up?

If you decide to press on, all specifications are available at Great Basin Rovers.

Good luck

The pumpkin on the rover axle is offset to the right side and I believe you Xterra pumpkin is centered. Just get a D44 out of a TJ or build a 9"

Why not just hang control arm mounts and spring pads on your stock axle?

Well, thanks a lot for all your inputs. Well, First of all I like Xterra. I know Landrover is a Mountain goat but if you see what an xterra can do, you will be surprised. I am doing my own drawings for this project. I considered mr Robert Mann's (oldscout) advice and pulled some strings. I like the D44 Axle, and just add my spec and measurment to it. It's gonna be fun. However, thank you all and happy wheelin :)

Riad Good Luck with your project. I have to :) when you say we would be suprised. I had a Pathfinder and Ex-Cab 4x4 truck and they do not come close to what a Rover can do. Where are you located maybe after you are done or before you start you can wheel with some Rovers and they can get Pics. and post them.
Good Luck

Thank you.. Pathfinder has less ground clearance than an X. But it has more horse power now a days then an X. if you want to see some action on Xterra, visit the website www.xterraownersclub.com I am located at MD. I have been to GWNF (George Washington National Forest) with a friend of mine who has a Discovery. The trip was real fun, We took some pictures but didn't have a chance to put them on the web. The trip was really cool. Currently I am waiting on My ARB Bull Bar and Good Year Wrangler MTR (265 85 16) to show up.
Anf if I can finish my project by then It would be fun, however, we are planning to hit shamokin PA trail with some huge rock and dip mud hole or worst case we might go back to GWNF. I will make sure I have the picture up this time... :)
