I will be installing a new speed sensor on my '96 D1. Have heard they take about 20 minutes to install and that they are located on the T case. This is all I know. I don't have the part yet, so I am not sure what to look for. Is it pretty obvious once I get under the truck and see the part??
TIA

Just "bumping" up this thread...
I'm looking to do the same thing. Can someone fill us in on how to do this?
btw, how much was the speed sensor and where did you buy it, and what was the part #?

Scott & Garrett I will pull my paper work to get you a part # later to day if no one gets it for you . My paper work is not with me. It is on the back of the T-case one small bolt holds it on. it is a easy job once you see the little black box.
I think Nathan Crabtree can get them for you he is about 60.00 the land rover dealer is around 90.00
hope this helps Scott

Scott and Robert -- thanks for the info and part #. Is there any electrical wiring cutting or splicing to be done? Do you recommend pulling a fuse when doing this job?
Thanks,
Scott

The only thing that you will need that is special, is a ball end Allen wrench. They allow you to turn the wrench with some miss alignment. I bought the set of 10 (10mm-1.5mm) for $9.00
The wires just unplug and there is no need to play with any fuses.
