You may have heard about a lot of rain getting dumped in Austin, TX (some place got 13" yesterday). Anyway, I was driving home and in a construction zone, there was a long area with 6-8 inches of water and then a couple of sections with water up to the sills (maybe higher, but none came in the doors). I guess I drove faster than I should of in the shallow water, because at two points, all of the gauges went dead and the SRS and ABS lights came on. Very quickly, the gauges started working properly and the idiot lights turned off, interestingly enough, the guages started working, then the SRS light turned off a little later and then the ABS light turned off a little later. The engine never missed a beat...
Obviously I splashed something somewhere, but does anyone have any suggestions on where I should start looking? I figure I'll take the connectors under the hood apart and put dielectric grease in them so this doesn't happen again (like I'm going to drive through 18" deep water on a highway anytime soon). Any other suggestions?

I went through a puddle once mabey about 2-3 inches deep and wasn't going very fast then my engine almost died (it may have died I don't remember) but for about 20 mins after that I had no power it felt like I was driving on 4 cycs. then all of the sudden full power came back. obviously something got wet that shouldn't have but it never happened since
