I have Great Basin Rover HD rear axles and would like to get spare front axles. I do lots hard wheeling and like going prepared. I already carry spare front & rear drive lines, tie rod, and the stock rear axles. Any help locating the fronts at a reasonable price would be great.

Where do you store your spare drive lines?
Thanks,
Mike B.

I don't run with the back seats, so I strap them down in the foot well behind the front seats. I will probably strap them to the frame once I get all the axles and can find a place for everything.

That failed because his trailing link failed.
Does not count.

How does one get a trailing link to fail? The stock ones look pretty beefy.
Thanks,
Mike B.

Beefy? Have a look at a RTE trailing link or a $G one. Thats beefy. The stock ones are pretty thin.
(Mike we are talking rear links here)

How to make it fail?
get a little bend in it (hit a rock), go all flexed out and then step on the gas . . . fold . . . crunch

Run stock ones in rocks or ledges and have a heavy foot on the gas.
Hmmmm, same way one breaks stock axles...

Depends on if we are looking at a D1 or D2. The D1 trailing links are pretty flimsy. The D2 ones are heavy duty, looks just like the front radius arms. The trailing links off the classic RR are a little thicker than the ones on the D1, but still on the flimsy side in my opinion.

Yea,
But I've got a RRC and MikeB has a D1. Those things look like you could break them with a hammer!
Fortunately we don't do much in the way of rocks here in FL so the stock units are probably enough, but if I was running Tellico, Moab, Prtichett, etc, I'd replace those things in a heartbeat.
