Anyone have any suggestions on what and where I can get storage containers for my roof rack. I would like something to put my camping gear in. I like the Pelican but they are too much $$$ for what I am using them for. I tried The Home Depot but nothing descent. Thanks

Try these big-ass rubbermaid boxes...Thay are great, you can drill soem holes in the bottom and mount em rite to the rack...or ratchet strap em...
They come in many sizes, but there are som big ones too...
I carry all my "crap" in one in the trunk, its worked well
I think i got it at walmart, or maybe pep boyz

I have seen a lot of people using "Action Packers". I think these are the containers that Joshua is refering to. You can get them in varying sizes at stores like Target, K-mart, or Wal-Mart. Good Luck

Military surplus rocket boxes work well. Cheap, too. There are various sizes. Some not big enough for camping gear, but recovery gear fits well. I also keep chainsaw, gas, etc. in another one. Not sure of a source on the internet, but I know they are out there.

Pelicans are the end all be all. If you waste your time and money on cheap alternatives you will still be wanting some and wont really be happy till ya get em. Just skip the rest and get a few....
