Device over driver's B-Pillar???

I'm sure one of you out there knows what this is... What is the hole over the driver's side (left side) B-Pillar for? There is a cover over it and a loose three pin wiring harness behind. Is it for some sort of map light or another dome light? Just curious...

It is for the motion detector for the alarm system. It's standard on Range Rovers, and they tried it for a short time in Discoveries, but it was buggy. They stopped installing them shortly after they started. If you look in a Range Rover, you'll see a little bug eyed pod in the same place, and that's the motion detector.

I thought that was where you are supposed to mount your Level-o-Guage. That way you you have some place to focus on in a roll-over.
