I budgeted about $4500.00 for my christmas wishes and they are,

1. 4.1s GBR gear
2. Front and rear ARB lockers
3. New steel rims and tires
4. Power/trail co2 tank
5. HD GBR rear axles

I already have the ARB bumper, winch, skid plates and ..... Is the money well spent or I should get something else for my 96 disco? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Great list, although I would do detroit/tt since you don't have front axle upgrades budgeted. If you are set on ARB, just ride cautiously when locking the front and you probably will be fine from what I have seen.

Make sure to get the trail-air tank...a lot less $$ than powertank.

First off you need an attitude adjustment. As I was taught early on, regear your thinking from "The Wish List" into calling it "The I Need This List". hehe

If you are getting the ARB lockers, then I would drop the Trail air since (I assume)you will already be getting the ARB comp. to run the lockers. Maybe consider the front HD axles since you will have it all apart up there.
Or do like Tom said, Detroit front and rear and then grab the trail air.
I'd squeeze a welder onto the list but you most likely dont suffer the break down I do that require one.

Happy spending! :)

I plan to use the trail air to run my ARB lockers. Unless it is a bad idea?

I will have to put off the front HD axles for now. From what I have heard/learned, the rear axles get the most of stress. And of course, kid's educatioin and wife's .......:)

well shit. since we are spending your money, i really like the idea of the premier power welder like CVC said. and while you are at it. lets go with dual batteries, but since you had to knock the trumpet off the airbox, you better get a scnorcle.

you have an adventure rack with 6 auxilary lights and a rear light dont you? you can easily run the wire up to the rack light if you strap it onto that snorcle you bought.

_seriously thought. unless you can install the gears and all that yourself. dont forget to allow at least $500 for the instalation. probably more.

I don't know how to weld so I will have to pass on the welder. As for the snorkel, I really don't think it will work well for any disco from 96 and on.

I did include the labor for the gear and ARB. Per Bill, it will be about 1,500 per axle. That is for the exchange of the 3rd members.

Yellow top, it is not on the budget list but is on my variable budget list so it will be included.

Kyle, I was going to get the detroit but ARB lockers just .....I am getting the HD axles as you recommended. :)
