My wife lets me play with her rover as long as I clean it up afterwards. Yesterday I forgot to close the sunroof when I was done and it rainded about 5 inches last night. My question is, how well do Rovers dry out? Or is it time to trade the Pick-up in on a used Defender.

Just let it dry out and you should be ok. My Disco has seen a few downpours with the sunroofs open, and its been fine, just don't make a habit of it.

Put a de-humidifier in it with the heat on full blast and the highest velocity fan you can find. Let it run in your garage or driveway for three hours...and it'll all be out.

oh, and check the de-humidifier once evry 1/2 hour to make sure it isn't full!

I vacuumed out the standing water. The heater is on and the Rover is drying out well. Thank God and Rover for flat floor boards. Which is better than I can say for my Dodge Dakota. When I filled it with water, I had to remove the seats, carpets, and pads to dry it out. As an aside, if you leave the sunroof open you will soak the headliner. Using the shopvac on the headliner cleans up both the water and three years accumulated dust. Maybe I can convince my wife that this was all part of a cleanup project?

depending on the year, your Discovery may have a "brain" under the left front seat. this is one of the reasons US spec discos have a more limited wading height, at least for series II.

When I get wet inside, I park with one side's wheels up on a curb and leave the lower side's door ajar. Water drains right out...

or jack up one side up high for the same effect.
