I have a 94 D1...got to drive a d2 this weekend both on and off road....wow...what an HUGE improvement...this one was decked out...air suspension and HDC which was really impressive on the muddy hill I had it on. But the best thing is the Bosch injection system bolted to the rover motor...claimed power is 188bhp and 250lb/ft...but it feels like MUCH more...either that or my 94 is getting real tired...and I have the chip/piper cam and other mods already. I am very envious of you guys with d2s....what a nice motor!!!

Thanks, Pete. I drove a DI ('98) before I bought my DII and the difference was very noticeable, especially off the line. Seems to have a lot more torque lower in the RPM range. Still not a powerhouse, though!

Odd, when I test drove the DII I noticed little power difference from my 97.

Part of the diff is the throttle linkage, D1 feels anemic w/ the long throw on the the 'go' pedal, esp off the line.

the difference is the thor intake manifold with the bosch EMS

dual path intake plenum for good power off the line and at higher speeds. does no one read the technical data sheets?
