Dear all,
First I would like to thank the creators of this board for giving me a reason to upgrade my modem (56k rules!) and also for allowing all of us to get our daily rover fix while saving our marriages from the dangers of over-roverfication (they don't want to hear it every time we see one on the road and I don't understand it...)

Anyway, I have recently picked up my 96 disco from the family mechanic who replaced the exhaust collection gasket (now it has more power and it doesn't sound so much like an abrams tank...)but I still have the problem of stalling out when I try to start it after a drive of over 25 miles or 20-25 minutes...whichever comes first. I checked the compression--good, fuel pressure test--good. New plugs and wires (magnecore and bosch) I just don't know where to go from here. I am planning to take it to the dealer next week, but I am really hoping that someone on this board will save my dignity by pointing out some obvious flaw in my logic...
Thanks in advance!
Justin

Mine does the same sometimes. When starting from hot it sometimes just dies as soon as it's started. I'm starting to think it's normal.... Like all the other faults I've found on my new to me 97 Disco 1.

If you find a solution please post it up here cos I'd love to fix mine. (I promise to do the same)

It could be the stepper motor. In the tech section, go to FAQ and read about cleaning/replacing it. If you replace it and find a cheaper after market part, post the info here for others.
