Sorry to bother everyone again, but if I were going to check my O2 sensors exactly what would I do.... I know where they are, but are there any tell tale signs of wear/and tear on them that I should pay attention to, also is there any special technique to extracting them safely and efficiently?

Can't tell you what to look for - I think they just die internally like any other eletric sensor. There is a special socket for removing them that accomodates the wiring - available at any parts store.

You can use a regular open end wrench, they are easy to get to from underneath, takes 15 minutes to change them. As far as wear and tear, I was told that you basically just replace them around about 80-85k miles. One indicator besides the Check Engine light that comes on if they are malfunctioning is poor gas mileage (obviously poor gas mileage is a realative term). If you find your mileage has dropped off and there is no obvious explanation for it, the O2 sensors could be the culprit)

If you need to replace them, Nathan Crabtree sells them for really cheap (in comparison). The dealer near my house wanted about $250 a piece, Nathan sold me a pair for less then $200 including shipping.
