I have a '94 Disco with 124K on it that gets an intermittent idle problem every now and then. It will be idling fine and then 'stutter' a bit, dropping a few hundred RPM, then will go back to a normal idle. Only lasts for a few seconds, never actually dies.
I am going to do a tune up this week and see if I can diagnose the problem but I thought I would check here first and see if anyone else has run into this before.
Thanks.

I wanted to follow up to my own posting so someone else with the same problem might find it helpful.
This idle problem was a bitch to trace. I had thought more than a few times that I had fixed the problem only to have it come back. It turned out to be a fuel pump. The last few times the rough idle occurred I heard the fuel pump relay clicking on and off....the pump was dying. Sure enough, it up and died a few days later. Actually, it would run for a while, then it would kick off. At first I thought it might be the relay but testing proved that it was the pump.
Couldn't ask for a easier pump to change. Not super expensive either, I got mine for $219, I thought it would be closer to $500.
