Someone posted on the old board that they got a good deal on Magnacore 8mm wires. Where was that and how much?

On the left side of the page there is a section on Special Offers.

I just bought a 7mm set for $54 and they work great. I have heard that the larger sizes will be difficult to fit into the original wiring looms, and really make no difference in performance. Hope this helps.

I got the 8mm and they fit in the looms (barely) they were 57 from magnecor directly. Others have used 8.5 with new looms but they (8.5mm) are duckets

I emailed Magnecor asking about the 7mm & 8mm Electrosports vs. 8.5mm KV85 on my stock 1996 4.0 engine. The following is the response from Steve Brown at Magnecor:

The "Electrosports" will work fine for you, the KV85 8.5mm cable provides more
temperature protection and EMI suppression - but I doubt it will make any
difference.

It looks like 7mm at $54 or 8mm at $57 at are best bet for the money - 8.5mm is $95...

If I had to do it again I might go with 7mm to make them fit easier but either works well. 8.5 is too many duckets for a 182hp engine.

8.5 Jackobs wires DO NOT fit in the stock looms.

Only 8mm will fit (tight squeeze) 8.5mm and up you need a new looms.

Just pulled my new Magnecor 7mm out from my Disco '97 because they kept popping out from 2 of the spark plugs. Replaced them with stock and returned the mags.

This is a common problem with all wires on discos. You have to squeeze the top of the boot to eliminate the air pressure while you install.

I had recently purchased the 8mm wires and I was extremely happy with them (as three of the lucas wires were completley frayed in the back...nice and safe) but since my oxygen sensor is beginning to croak (i think) I have begun to foul my plugs relatively quickly. Therefore, I am driving the 89 GMC pickup while my landy sits in the driveway just smirking at me. While the plugs were good the ride was great and the idle smooth!!

If anybody wants a set of Magnecor Plug Wire I can get them a set. These are the 7 mm. This is not a great savings but every bit helps. If you need a set for something else let me know and I will get you a price.
