I was wondering if anyone knows what the best tire pressure front/rear is for off-roading in mud/rocks with the stock Disco tires? Never really bothered with it before but was wondering if there is a certain pressure that works best?

well, it is advised in the manual not to go under 17psi in the front and 26psi (or maybe 28) in the rear if my memory is right.

when you get offroad tires, you have thicker sidewalls, and therefore need to air down further to get the same effect...people have gone down as low as 3psi...i have gone down as far as 6 in the front and 10 in the rear

A lot will depend on the type of tire you are using.

It also is determined by how you are going to air back up. If you have a portable source with you, you can go lower. If you're have to go to a gas station near the trail head, etc., you have to be a bit more conservative. Even short pavement trips (especially at speed) on a tire with low pressure can be dangerous and/or can damage the tire.

There really is no definitive answer to that question. Some people like to air down, others do not. I usually don't bother with it on one day trips, but while in Moab I was running 25psi all around. Kyle was running 55psi. Mike Peters was running 15psi. It really depends on your tires, the terrain, and what works best for you. You have to experiment with it.
