Does anyone know where i could buy a new or used set of the factory black XD wheels?

AB, RN, and the dealer will all sell them new. All they are is black powder coated castor alloys, and regular castors go for about 60 a piece used.

Can i Just have my Castor alloys powder coated?
Is it expensive? Also I noticed that the Xd Rims are black centers with a grey ring around it! Could i Just tape it out and paint with automotive paint?

How much automotive paint experience do you have? You could definately have them painted or powdercoated just make sure you send them to someone who knows what they are doing. I "think" factory is painted not actually powder coated but I am guessing it is a baked on type of deal. I am painting a set of RR alloys I have with epoxy and will see how they come out. I just have to make up my mind what color I want them to be.

Sure, you can paint them youself, but remember that it has to be durable as all hell or it will chip away on the rocks and gravel. My friend and I just painted his '69 Land Cruise wheels - he thought about having them professionally done (powder coat or bake), but he decided to go the cheap route with a few cans of spray paint. We knew it would get chipped off, but the upside is the fact that you just hose off the dirt, dry them off, and spraypaint again - brand new wheels! There's a few pictures of his wheels in my photo gallery.

a good coat of clear acrylic spray paint over flat black makes for a very durable coat on your wheels.....I had painted steel wheel on an FJ40 years ago, never chipped once....

They usually come up for sale used every now and again. Going rate seems to be about 250 for a set of 4. Check lrx.com besides early RR ones castors are usually the cheapest, then freestyles, the most prized being the deep dish ones which bring 400-500 a set.

I wanted to get my stock castor alloy wheels painted black, but my local dealer said that it would cost $150 per wheel!!! So I will probably just get some American Racing Wheels at $68 a piece. They are a lot stronger than the stock wheels and are great if you run a larger tire size.
