How does one remove the luggage bars on a Disco I? They are in the way of my Brownchurch roof rack.

I think there are caps over the screws. LR has a plug kit for the holes that are left behind when you remove them. I am sure you can find something similar at home depot.

I was looking at that myself recently. The subject is not covered in the tech manual. Looks like the headliner has to come out to access the fasterners. As CVC stated, holes will have to be plugged, too.

My Brownchurch rack fit right over the rails. No need to remove mine.

If you are considering removing the rails and have rear AC, be prepared to disconnect the rear duct work that feeds the back seat passengers. Those two rear fasteners are behind those. It took me 6 hours and a lot of patience!! One side note to that....try to keep your hands as clean as possible when dealing with the headliner....it marks up real easy...and doesn't clean very well!!
