Spotted your Disco(white) in the parking lot over in the shopping center off of Snowden River pkwy. I was wondering if you installed your ARB bumper yourself? If so, is it possible for you to give me a hand installing one on my Rover. I'll be picking it up from 4X4 connection, and I really didn't want to pay for an install.

Hello Kevin,

That may very well have been me. My wife and I frequent a little Indian restaurant over on Snowden River Parkway all too frequently. Do you remember the tag on the Truck? Ours is kind of unique, a Four Wheel Drive Club Tag...

Anyway, I bought the truck with the bumper installed, but installing an ARB bumper is quite easy, you should not fear tackling the job. An extra hand is helpful though, as it is heavy (Especially with a winch installed). Depending upon when and were you are doing the install, I'd be glad to lend a hand if I can get free. Drop me an e-mail...

Yep Scott, it was last Thursday, around the 7:00 hour.
I tried to wait and see who owned the Disco....tag had some sort of initials followed by numbers.....I figured it may be someone in one of the two restaurants..so waiting wasn't a sure shot. I think I even saw your Disco on E-bay earlier this year....Is your D-90 red by any chance? I've only seen three in Columbia...Red(west Columbia, Black-Toys-R-Us parking lot, 97 Willow Green-Riverhill)...I'll drop you an e-mail later today...
Will you be traveling to any events? I've been looking for a local Rover fanatic, my wife would rather read War&Peace over sharing my passion for Land Rovers......
I own a stock Range Rover Classic 94, and the only outfitting I've done to date is the recovery ring in my receiver. I'll be doing a coil coversion, ARB/Warn 9000, and wilderness roof rack before the end of this month...then I'll be ready to hit some trails.
I was planning to have the bumper installed @ cityimports.com, but I'd rather do it myself. I really don't have the space but if I had to do it at home I can. I just need some pointers on what to remove, and what tools I'll need. I'll e-mail when I pick the bumper up.

Kevin,
I have done some work with Scott on his Disco at my shop in Owings Mills. If you are interested, I would be willing to offer up my facilities and advice some Tuesday evening. (Tuesdays seem to be Rover night at my shop.) I do ask for a contribution for shop supplies and maybe a pizza!
Let me know...
Trevor

Do the bumper install. You will be so glad that you did. If anything breaks, or needs maintenance, you will know exactly what to do.

I am a computer jock by trade, so I am not particularily mechanically inclined. But faced with over $1,000 in labor charges to install everything, I decided to do the installations myself. I just finished a SafariGard bumper, skid plate, SuperWinch X9 winch, RoverTym Springs, Rancho Shocks, OME Steering Stabilizer, RoverTym Drop Kit (Quiet Cones), RoverTym Upper Shock Mounts, and RoverTym Rock Sliders. It took quite awhile for me to get everything the way that I wanted, but now, if there are any problems, I know right where to look. It was a real confidence builder.

LoL,
Mike
