I am planning to take my Disco I on wintersports next week and need to take a luggage box for the skies and boots.

It comes with three cross bars by default. According to the manual you should tie everything to the side rails as well. Can the default crossbars hold a box or do I need to install snap-on cross bars?

Regards,

Lody

No. They pop out really easily. that is why you must tie to sides as well.

I barely trust those things to hold themselves in place. If you are getting a luggage box, drop a couple extra bucks and get the adapters that allow the use of Thule load bars. Much better, you can strap a whole lot more to them.

OK, if already two of you say so, i will take no risks and go for the snap on bars!

Thanks
