Can I add any performance coil (as a replacement) to my 95 Disco like a Jacobs Ultra Coil, an Accel, or an MSD? I'm getting some Accel 300+ Race wires (8.8mm), too.

I'll be putting a Jacobs from AB on my truck as soon as I get some time to wrench on it. It's sitting in the dinning room right now.

You can use aftermarket coils, but your not really going to see any difference. Don't expect any of the HP gains that Jacobs or MSD claims.

Jacobs is nothing but a high pressure sales POS organization! Their stuff doesn't work any better than stuff you can buy at Pep Boys! Some MSD stuff is good, but on an engine that is basically stock, a coil is a coil is a coil. Now if you want to improve other aspects of your ignition and do some real good, go to RPI's web site and see what they have. Time tested and effective albeit a little pricey.

Well, the engine is MOSTLY stock. I have a K&N air filter and a custom high flow exhaust. Just looking for a little more Oooomph....

In my opinion, a coil won't do much at this stage.Try new wires (if yours are old) and good plugs. If your coil is bad, get a hi output one but don't just change it 'cause it isn't going to do much.

Got the Jacobs still in the box used (cheap) from a freind. I'm not expecting much, but it was there so I figured "why not"?
