Hello, Anyone install a SG stage II suspension on their Disco? If so is it really bolt on with no cutting or modifying needed? Has anyone gotten drive line vibrations from it? How is it with sway bars not removed for off-roading? Looking to get some lift/artic for off-road but don't want to lose the highway performance either.

I have the Stage III on my Disco and it requires all kinds of additional parts ( longer shafts, removal of sway bars, extended brake lines, etc.). If the Stage II kit is anything like the Stage III kit, you better buy a portable welder and keep it with you. My kit has suffered 3 different failures that for the price of the kit, should never have happened.

If you have not bought the kit yet, I would look into other kits. Advantages of other setups include, lower cost, better quality parts, greater availability.

Don't go with Safari Gard, they did not design their suspension well. It has not proven reliable for on-road use. If I were you, I would get the Rovertym lift. It is a lot more reliable and sturdier. It is a little bit cheaper than the Safari Gard crap.

oh yeah...the Rovertym is a direct replacement of the stock one. You will only have to drill one hole for the lower shock mounts, but you don't really need those. If 98% on-road 2% off-road is your thing, then the Rovertym is perfect for you.

I put the Safari Gard Stage II on my 95 and felt that it was a decent setup that included all the basics. Everything was bolt on and only took a few hours to complete. I have recently switched to the Rovertym 3 inch kit for a little more lift because it was way cheaper than trying to upgrade to a stage III and I like the ride better than the OME springs included with the the SG II. For the money I wouldn't say it is worth it unless you want a no brainer comlete kit were you don't have to look for different bump stops and spring reatiners. But I feel that there are very comparable not necesarilly better kits for less money.

Thanks for all the advise. I have also been told by other people that the Rovertym is the way to go. Would I be able to put the truck back on the stock suspension after installing the Rovertym kit? Also, does anyone know if Rovertym would do the install and supply all the parts (shocks, etc)?

Rovertym will do the install and supplies all the parts, including shocks. I did the 3" lift install with a couple of friends over a weekend. In my opinion, the installation was half the fun.
