I have a 1999 Disco II which I bought after taking a later model Disco II with ACE for a test drive. So I thought I was getting the firm suspension but alas I was new to this sport and was not fully aware of what I was buying.

Well the body roll drove me crazy for a few weeks & I got used to it. This past weekend I did my first off-road rally and as would be expected I bounced up and down everywhere - to the tune of a dented muffler and oh yes, a busted fog light (them things are expensive)! Oh yes I am partly to blame but the stock suspension did not help!

So what is one to do? I have been told that Old Man Emu springs (medium) and shocks (heavy) are the way to go. Someone else mentioned HD Rover springs with Bilsteins.

What can folks recommend??

IF YOU PLAN TO UPGRADE YOUR SUSPENSION,CHECK WITH YOUR DEALER ABOUT THE WARRENTY.
I UPGRADE THE SUSPENSION FOR MY 98 RANGE ROVER.
THE DEALER MADE ME PAID $4000.00 FOR THE AIR SUSPENSION REPAIR.THEY SAID I ALTERATED THE SUSPENSION WITH NON-FACTORY PARTS,SO IT IS NOT COVERED BY WARRENTY.BEWARE.

take a look at the moab pics... tons of dangerous obsticles and everyone came home with thier muffler.....

If you stick with Stock, how will dealer react to installing Bilsteins? Your handling will improve with less sway too (unless you go faster....)

Upgrading your suspension or doing other modifications for that matter will not automatically void your entire warranty. There has to be some relation. I can see how the dealer would not honor an air suspension claim because of a modified suspension, but other things like the mass air flow sensor or the radio (to use an extreme example) should still be covered.
My point is, do your homework, know how the modifications will affect your truck, then act accordingly.

If you take a list of your planned mods to the dealer, they can fax it to LRNA, and LRNA will make a decision about warranty issues. They are fairly reasonable, and do know that people modify them.
