The catalytic convertors on my '95 Disc are starting to rattle. I'm sure the dealer would want several thousand dollars for factory replacements.

However, I noticed that Atlantic British has US-made aftermarket cats for $700/pair. Has any one used these? Are they satisfactory? Any other inexpensive alternative sources for cats out there?

Thanks,

Norm

Norm check out 2 sites. The 1st one is Northwest Rover's Performance. They have an excellant exhaust system designed for the Rover. They sell it as seperate pieces or a complete system. Then go to Rover's North web site to buy it. The complete system, new y-pipe and the rest of the exhaust for $1300. I have put one on my 99 Disco and am very happy with it, not disappointed at all in the performance and sound. The new system is complete bolt on. I did it in my driveway with all 4 wheels on the ground.

I looked around a lot when trying to decide on replacement cats for my Disco. The NRP Y pipe was the easy (and best) choice. $799 for a very nice stainless high performance Y pipe is a very good deal.

Just look at the generic cats that Summit has - any good exhaust shop can weld -em up. I haven't used them on any Rovers, but have done on a couple street/strip cars.

Check this out:

This talks about doing the full exhaust replacement with Summit Cats on a classic RR.

The Atlantic British cats that we have installed have fit. I just installed an NRP cat on a high mileage Disco yesterday, and that also fit nicely. The performance felt better and the sound was nic with the NRP.
