Has anyone considered or done the 4.6 pistons in their 4.0? my motor is still fresh but this sounds like a good idea down the road, maybe some of the guys in the uk could help on this one. Would you get good gains from just the pistons? opinions...........

If your 4.0 is a Gems type, I beleive you will not get any gain since you'll still be limiting the amount of air and gas flowing into the chambers... I'm just guessing though from info obtained at www.rpiv8.com

Try that link to read about how to get more out of your 4.0...
Good luck

I think the pistons are the same or very similar. 4.6 is a stroked 4.0 ie they have the same bore. Word is that you can't just stroke a 4.0 easily, you have to buy a 4.6 block and do it that way.

if you have a 4.0 motor and install 4.6 pistons and don't change anything else your compression ratio will drop and you won't have any power.
