What are te largest tires I can put on a series 1 w/o any mods.

You should be able to fit a 235/85/16 (7.50X16)with only a steering stop adjustment. Thats what I run on the 58 S1 88"

Uh, hang on there Uy....
Something isn't jivin'....
Series I ended in 1958.... '59 and '60 were Series II models... 1961 through 1967 were Series IIa Rovers, 1968 was the year of the Bugeye Rover, 1969 to 1971 were Later SIIa, and 1972 through 1983 were Series III Land Rovers....
So a Rover built in 1963 would be a SIIa...
Now, it's VERY possible that you have a Series I Land Rover that was mis-registered as a 1963 model...
Was your Land Rover 'really' built in 1963? Or is it really a Series I?
