Let me start by saying thank you... I've been shopping for a new truck for the past several months and DiscoWeb has been a great resource.

What are your opinions on the Cold Climate Package, specifically the heated windshield? The function seems very cool but I'm a little concerned about the "mesh" in the glass - it seems pretty noticable, at least at first.

For those of you who have this option, what do you think - do you still notice the lines, is it worth it? For those of you who don't have the option, any issues with the standard defrost "keeping up"?

Thanks,
Derald

My fathers 2000 Disco has it. After a week or so you get use to it and don't even notice its there, then again I never thought it was overly noticable. The performance is amazing and makes up for any annoyance. I would definatly recommend getting it if you are in a cold climate. My 1990 Range Rover sucks at defrosting but hey its still a rover...

My Disco doesn't have it, and I wish it did... the regular defrost has to be on full to be of much use here, which leaves my toes cold.... when split between the windshield and floor, the window won't get fully clear.

But, I DO have heated seats, and have become so addicted to them, I don't think that I would ever be happy in another vehicle if it doesn't have them! :)

Get It! I have it on my RR Classic-and there is nothing better in the winter than not having to scrape ice of the windshield.

Oh by the way, you want notice the lines.....only when your windshield is squeeky clean-then you will think its the coolest thing since the wheel. This is another reason why I love LandRovers......the hidden(unseen) great things about them that not everyone knows about-

94Rover,

Do you know what years the RR Classics came with heated windshields? I once had a guy tell me that my 1990 should have them, but It doesn't...

Pete

Also does anyone know if you can put heated disco II seats in place of a Classics seat?

Thanks to everyone who responded - I decided to go for the option. Believe it or not this was my last major decision point and I now have a brand new 2002 Disco sitting in the garage, complete with the cold climate package!

to add heated seat in a D2 all you need to do is buy the switches and the switch plate cover with the cut outs. Pry up the switch plate (cover). Unscrew the switch plate and it's the white & green plugs. I'll be added them on friday I'll post the part #sand let you know how it goes.

Is it possible to put the heated windshield on a '96 Disco? My windshield is cracked and I'm looking to replace it.

Also, how hard is it to add the heated seats on the same vehicle. I have the manual seats and the thought of a toasty seat sounds nice.

Thanks,
Jeff
