OK, I've read posts re: tires and wheels, but haven't really found an answer for my question, so here it is: (in spite of it seeming like kicking a dead horse!) If I get a set of AR steel wheels, I assume I'll have to trim some (I'll be doing the cheap bastard lift first)...I've found a good deal in some 235-85s and wonder if they will work on a 16x7 wheel? I've read that they can work on a 16x5.5, but could use more width. However, GCR only has (listed) 16x7s. Will these work? Is there a cheaper place to buy steel wheels? I've read posts, but am under the impression that the AR website-listed wheels won't work on Rovers, so...there you go! Anyway, will 235-85's work on 16x7s? As always...help is greatly appreciated!

Usually the tire specs show what rim they used to measure them on. The stock width is 235 so they should be fine on stock 16x7 rims.

With the GCR wheels you have to be really careful about tire choice and what will rub. 235s might or might not be narrow enough to stuff inside the wheel wells with those wheels. You will probably be better off with stock offset steelies from a fitment standpoint with 235 85 R16 even though you lose more turning radius. Might want to ask if others are running the combo you want with a 2in lift before you commit to the tires/wheels.
