Plan on putting a set on stock 96 DISCO,will they rub on hard turns and will they stick out beyond the lip of the wheel well(dont want all the dirt hitting fenders)? If I am not mistaken they are about .9 inch wider than stock 235/70,correct me if I am wrong.. thanks

not a recommended size on a d1
pluses
it might look cool
it might make the car handle better on the road
(depends on tire mfg)
minuses
it will decrease your turning radius
it will require you to adjust your steering bump
stops
it will lower your mpg due to increased rolling
resistance
it might not stuff fully in the wheel wells
it might look puffy on the rim

I'm trying to make plans for the CORVA Poker Run, if that's what you mean.
What kind of vengence you talkin about? Nutcracker? hehehehe

ics 2 - iron chef showdown - basically gourmet food in the middle of the desert with a bunch of rover heads. it's an addictive activity.
if you're basically keeping stock - i'd do 225-75 in a good AT like yoko geo AT+2, or bridgestone dueler AT. just a tad taller 1/4" but slightly narrower so better mpg.

yes corva and ics2 are to be combined in some way.
salt, honey mustard.... the truth of your dual identity will be revealed to the world my friend. and that ain't small peanuts...

Hey Steve,
I went 245-70-16 in the new bfg all terains. (D1 stock) I needed the tires for the weekend and couldnt find the others in that size for a good price. Hopefully it works out. Time will tell.
Is there a website or somewhere I can get more details on the ics2? If its an open party (and in CA)its sounds like a winner.

Chris,
I ran 245/70s on stock suspension with no problems. There was very slight rubbing on passenger rear fender, but not enough to cause much concern. Just keep your ears open when you start stuffing those tires offroad.
For pictures of Truckhaven, which is where we all met for ICS1, go to Expedition Exchange and scroll down a bit on the main page:

Oh, and Steve, it ain't me, honest. I just eat Planters Peanuts, I don't dress up like one...I do get a kick out of leading you on, though

chris
the 245-70-16's are fine- just expect (and maybe not) a slight dip in mpg.
