Just recently my rear door has had problems opening up. No matter if it is unlocked or locked it will not open unless I put the key in it and turn it to the left. So long as it is turned to the left it will open. Otherwise I am S.O.L. Anyone had this same problem?

I'm having same problem with 95 Disco. My mechanic and I took out the rear door panel and seems like rear door actuator need to be replaced. When I press the remote, the door lock button does not go up all the way and I can only open the rear door with my key. It looks like easy to replace the rear door actuator but probably it will be over $100.
I'll call roverconnection which I always have good deal or Nathan Crabtree for the part.
best wishes,
Jinwoo

I have that same problem on my '96 -- but it's only intermittent with me, and then only after long periods of inactivity. The lock tab on the door will be totally up and yet the door won't open without some serious persuasion. The remote will "lock" and "unlock" the door, but still it won't come open. A day of the handle soaking in WD-40 usually frees it up for a pretty good while.

Try a generitic actuator they are about $5.oo I don't have any left or I would just send you one for free I sold them all on e-bay. But you can get them on e-bay and I'm sure you can get it to work for your application. I used to own a stereo shop and used them all the time in cars they are very reliable so don't let the price scare you off.

I have Spal actuators for $20 + ship. I have used some cheaper generic ones and they are alright but the average lifespan is less than a year. I haven't had any failures on the spal model and I believe the hole patern matches the LR one exactly. No big deal if it doesn't you just make some new holes for the bolts.

Pop the land rover cover off the handle cover and lubricate the moving part of the handle. It fixed mine a couple months ago.

Shane, you're the guy in Scottsdale or Tempe, right (area code 480)?
What intersection are you at again? I wouldn't mind stopping by some time to see about replacing stock speakers. A few of us are also heading out to Sycamore Creek (just north of Ftn Hills) on Sunday morning for a few hour trail run, if you're interested.

Bluegill,
Yes, I am in Tempe. Only been there a few months and don't have much in stock but we can get whatever you might want in a day or two.
2111 S. Industrial Park Suite 113
South of Broadway on Industrial Park Ave. which is the light between Priest and Hardy.
Heck ya, I am interested in a trail run. I've only had my Disco for a few months and haven't been out in it yet, feelin the need! How difficult is the trail you are going on? Not gonna lie and say I'm an expert so don't laugh if I chicken out a little. Let me know where and when and I'll be there! You can leave the info on here or email me at [email protected]
Thanks.
