I saw a post awhile ago regarding the various differential protectors out there. Could anyone shed some light on some commercially available diff. protectors that I could use with my vehicle whether it is bolt on or weld or both?...
Thanks,
Christian

Christian,
British Pacific, posted a new one yesterday on their site. Have not seen one in person.

I believe safarigard, mantec, and atlantic british carry them as well.

I couldn't seem to get one from Mantec that would be viable for the Disco2 back in Sept. this year. ...Hmmmm, I thought Rover's North had a pretty beefy bolt on diff guard (pros & cons to that) that will fit the Disco2. You might want to check into that one. I ended up with front & rear diff guards from Safariguard - I live close by, and I got them welded on there when I picked up my rock sliders. Hopefully, they'll do the job for me ...
Let us know what you find ...
Best wishes,
Kim

Christian,
Rovers North's bolt-on diff guard is the ideal one that I've tried so far. Sandwich type, hardly move when banged. Its main BRA portion is almost bullet-proof, the thickness is measured 5/16"-3/8". Galvanized. Only sacrafice the ground clearance around 1/8"-1/4", ok for me. Tried search previous conversation about it for its picture. RN doesn't have it show in their catalog.

Try Nathan Crabtree, [email protected]. He's a rep for Bearmach, or is selling some of their stuff. I'm buying front and rear guards from him in Dec.

I saw that British Pacific deal yesterday, too. It was a new product and came with all hardware (bolt on) on the daily special for $70.00. I know zippidy about all this, but they said it was nine pounds of metal coated with a vinyl coating to resist chipping. I don't think it said the gauge of the metal, which I guess was steel. I could only find one other front diff guard on the other sites I searched, and it was something like $105.00 with no hardware.
