There are numerous threads on this web-board concerning cross-reference parts. I'd like to set up a webpage (or help Ho set up a page) with Discovery parts and the corresponding parts available from other retailers that could be/are cheaper.
I'm thinking about stuff like alternators or interior bulbs or engine components that may be available from other automobiles.
If anyone has this information from personal experience, OR reliable second-hand experience, drop me an email with the cross reference and I'll put together a page.
There are over 300 registered users on this board, I am sure that a few of you have found a cheaper work-around and maybe you'd like to share.
I'm not looking to make a competitor to DiscoWeb, nor do I want to make any money off this, I just would like one spot to find cheaper options when it comes time to fix something on my truck.
anyone care to share a little information?
comments, suggestions, whatever?
Chris

It looks like Ho is willing to post a page for parts cross-referencing, and Robert agrees with me that it woudl be useful. Please send Ho a few ideas.
I specifically recall someone with the part number for the gear shift light......
and someone with an alternator that replaced a stock unit.
Please post these!
If we all share our little cheap bastard parts - maybe we can all save enough money to buy a bumper from Kyle (when he ever gets it drawn up!!!!!)
LOL
