I want to install Bearmach spings(a two inch lift I guess)on a 1996 SD.Are there Bilsteins to fit? Are there better choices for shocks.I am mostly on road, but drive lots of waterbarred service roads during hunting seasons.
Lastly,How large a tire will fit after the springs and shocks are in place(without trimming).I would like to go at least to 235/85/16.Possible?

Sean I had the 2" BM's you will not get 2" I only got 1.5front 1.75rear. shocks yes you can get Bilsteins to fit or Old Man Emu. you will need to trim for 235/85 Go to tech section tires & wheels that may help. If you are going to buy the springs new check out Rovertym. I would offer to sell you my 2" BM with only 10K on them. But Excite is B-rupt and my service may be shut down this weekend and my cable co. is looking for a new service that will screw everything up E-mail.
But if you would be intrested you could E-mail me @ mbobb@conductivetech.com and we can talk, But I will not be at work until MOnday Night.

Sean:

Just installed OME HD springs/shocks. This last weekend in Kansas on washboard roads, 4 guys at 200+ lbs./per, dog in back and gear in a Thule up top. Awesome!

sean -

without trimming- the largest size is 245-70. disco's stuff their wheels - you need to trim to fit a larger tire- i don't understand why so many people are so frightened to trim! i did a CT cut myself with a dremel and things are great!

the illusion of a lift is that it allows you to install larger tire- on a truck with no articulation this might be correct - but on a disco - you gotta trim - it's not so hard
