I have the opportunity to get a 2nd hand Atlantic British Skid Plate (the 3.4mm Galvanized Steel One) I was wondering if anyone could give me some feedback as to how good they are? Does the 3.4mm steel offer sufficient protection? I notice that the Aluminum one is either 7mm AB or 10mm RN. I suppose anything is better than nothing. Any advice appreciated.
Thanks

I have the AB 7mm aluminum unit and it is thick enough and light enough. I would think the 3.5mm steel unit has the same strength as the 7mm alum with the same weight.
Get the 2nd hand one if you can get a good deal (and make sure you get all the bolts)

I have the AB steel one, and have seriously mishaped it several times. I need to tack weld an angle to the back of it. A friend has the RN one with zero dents. But it cost more...
