It's a 1997 4.0l with 33,000 miles. When I hit the gas, the truck sounds like it's gonna stall for about a second and then the power picks up again. It bogs down and then it's okay after a second. It only happens when it's in gear. If it is in neutral or park and you press the gas pedal it revs fine. Any thoughts as to the cause of this problem? Thanks

Sounds like you have a problem with the TPS and/or the MAF sensor. If you have the manual and a volt meter it's a easy check.

You might want to change your fuel filter and then check fuel pressure, and if pressure is low, I would look at the fuel pump.
