Does anyone have an extension fix for the front and rear breather tubes on a DISCO2? Didnt know if the GCR kit would fit the Disco2? Thanks much

I don't know of any kit, but just buy some rubber hose and extend them as far as you want.

Just remove the breather bolt/connection attached to the axle and take it to a local auto parts store and buy lots of good quality vacuum hose and some zip ties. Far cheaper than a kit.

You can go to a large truck shop and get the press-on fittings and line for the air brakes. Just cut a small piece off your current line and take it to match up the size.
Then you will have the same quality parts.

The factory size is metric, but 1/4" OD is clsoe enough, and as Scott said - do it right - get 4 female/female unions and about 30 ft of 1/4" OD air brake tubing and extend them as high as you want.

dont forget to clean them regularly..... perhaps a few joints would make for easier cleaning. Mine bung up real quick.

Where do the stock ones come out?

Seann - D2 breathers are pretty high up. How deep are you going?

I got water in the front diff - but only because where the pipe went in was loose. A bit of silicone and it was fine.

the stock ones end in your engine compartment, they should be up against the firewall and they are bent at the ends, in a hook like a hanger

gulfcoastrover.com has a cool breather thing

The stock ones in a D2 dont seem to end in the engine compartment. I know my rear breather tube ends up inside the frame next to the wheel well. I forgot where the front ones end. Where is the best place to route the lines?

Search the archive for "breather lines"

This is probably not the only "right" way, but I ran all four lines up high on the firewall to a junction connection and then took a single larger diameter (3/8") line and ran it into the airbox using a tight fitting grommet. So far, no problems in some fairly deep stuff and all fluids have stayed uncontaminated.

The xfer case and trans lines (on a D1) terminate at the top of the trans tunnel and are kinda hard to reach - the rear terminated very low and I ran it along the frame rail with the factory wiring harness that's already there.

Bill,

What did you use for the 'junction connection' and where did you get it?

Thanks

Trevor

Nycoil - p/n 54064. It has 4 1/4" inlets and two 3/8" outlets - one of which I plugged. It is an aluminum manifold with built in "push to connect" fittings

You can see a picture at

http://www.nycoil.com/images/Product_Shot.gif

It's in the left hand picture about in the middle.
