4x hella 4000s on the roof rack, and now there's hardly any noise - just a slight whistle. The roar of the rack has gone.

IMHO its worth the cost to get rid of that damn nuisance.

Who carries the dead squirrels? They sound cool.

Dude, a weighted stuffed dead squirell could be very usefull. For example as a doorstop or wheel chock when jacking, or as a sort of bumper to keep things from scratching when tied down on the roof rack. Also useful in doors and center console if they rattle I should think. If only I had and entire BAG of dead squirells....

speaking of lights. has anyone ever had or used Saturnus lights? they are owned by Hella.

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message   By Tony (Gremlin) on Wednesday, December 05, 2001 - 03:48 pm: Edit

Instead of squirrels you should mount some jackalope heads. Think how many Hella you could mount on their antlers! Why you could have them pointing in every direction. Though you might have to carry a personnal sized nuclear reactor to power all those lights.

WHoA! Heres a thought, instead of a rally plate in between your lights, why not a single jackalope head?! OR FOUR jackalope heads with a single LIGHT!? I however am partial to a set of stuffed squirrells, does $G produce a cheap unreliable version? I think I need somthing a little heavier duty than what they would have. I heard they make them in carbon fibre....

Mine was howling even with hellas...Put the front spar of the factory rack in the rails and it stopped. A little cheaper option than 4000's and your wife won't kill ya....Honey I got rid of that noise you were complaining about. lol

I am doing the same set up on my rack how does a pair of euros and a center mounted pencil beam (4000's) sound for the SG Bumper? Opinions for best brush bar light setup using 3 4,000's?

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message   By Steve (Steve2) on Thursday, December 06, 2001 - 12:33 pm: Edit

warren-

at bull bar level - a pencil is a waste of lamp. a possible combo is two cornerings and one euro in the center. i'd also do 130w hella 'yellow star' just to be a little different.

OR
you could do the ipf 900msr. not as commonly found as the 4000 but will out perform in light and longevity. also a higher quality built lamp.
herasy i know - but my $0.02

steve
