There's a TON of great info on tire fiting here for disco I's, but how about series II's?

Are the wheel wells and radius arms on a disco2 the same dimentions as those on a disco1? (Ie. Do the same when-to-trim rules apply?)

As I suspect not, does anyone have experience as to when trimming is required? I'd like to keep it under that mark until I invest in a suspension ungrade.

Erik, experiences vary widely, however their are several people on this board and on disco2owners that have 265/75 without lift. I would not recommend it, but apparently their is only slight rubbing in the front wheel wells, very slight. At full turn, you'll contact the radius arms and rub, but that seems to be it. Otherwise, most without lift are going with 245/75, similar to the TREK rigs.

I would recommend that if you go 265, at least get the OME lift. This is exactly what I'm in the process of doing.

I agree with Dave...You can run the 265/75's with out a lift. As long you don't have a winch bumper. I put my 265's on with out a lift, and didn't have any rubbing problems. Another thing, there was tread going about putting the 265's on stock rims, that what I did and I haven't had any problems with that either...If your planning on a lift, get the 265's. the 245 look small with a lift...just a little more than my .02...may a nickle

Thanks for the adive on the GF. Mine too is short, well 5'4" and I'm 6'3". I'm debating at the moment whether or not to get the RTE sliders with the step or without. Simply to thwart her from 'wanting' to get into the rig...

265/75s and maybe a turn or two to the bump-stops

Thanks for the info guys. The added height from my dealer installed 255/65s should give my diffs some breathing room, and the added traction of the slightly wider tires, and the much better tread I'm getting might keep me on TOP of the sand next time. :-)

How do you figure? 265s are a full centemeter wider than the 255s I've got on now. That, plus A/T tires over highway tires seems much less likely to get me dug-in.

I am currently running 265/75/16 BFG MTkm (Great Tire) with OME Medium springs; I did have to do some minor trimming at the bottom of the front valence. 2000 DII.
